In December of 2003, Mt. Pleasant Church applied and received a grant from the Duke Endowment for a community outreach project for area teens. Money received from the Endowment along with the generosity of Mt. Pleasant UMC and it's members as well as community support helped to transform what was once the church's Old Fellowship Hall into The Youth Center. 

The purpose and mission of The Youth Center remains simple.  We want to offer ALL youth in the community a safe, Christian environment to meet and fellowship with one another.  Our hope is by providing a variety of age appropriate, free, self-led activities under Christian leadership we will reduce the social pressures, risks and hazzards teenagers face during their free time.
